Orogem Corporation was founded in 1980 by Jose and Marta Porcell with the assistance of Marta's father, Joaquin Tirador. Jose Sr. began the business by manufacturing 14kt. gold diamond and colored stone rings and importing fine jewelry products from countries all over the world including Italy, Spain, Israel, Mexico, and Japan.
Jose Sr. believed strongly in superior customer service and in always offering the highest quality product. These seeds for a truly successful business which he planted allowed his two sons, Gaspar and Jose Jr., to enter the business with an established base to work from.
In 1986, after Gaspar and Jose Jr. had each completed their college education, they joined their parents' business. They soon expanded the company's distribution to the national level. Over the following years, Orogem grew into a nationally recognized jewelry designer and manufacturer. Special thanks must be given to all of the associates, relatives and customers who have helped in creating that success, as well as insuring it for the future.
In February of 1987, Orogem first introduced The Ear Pin, an innovative earring design, which has allowed Orogem to expand its customer base ranging from independent jewelers to large retail chain operations. Manufactured in the USA by Orogem, Ear Pin designs have led to an expanded product line featuring a variety of other unique & creative jewelry designs. With original works of authorship being the strength of Orogem's designs, copyrights, trademarks, and patents continue to be issued.
In order to meet demand from across the country, Orogem has implemented a sales representative network in order to respond and service the retail jeweler. Along with building awareness and presence in the eyes of jewelry retailers, Orogem is committed in also building its image and support to the consumer. Through Club Ear Pin and Club Cioro service programs, Orogem expects to build a consumer following strengthening its growth and longevity well into the new millennium.
